Ordering Information

Delivery

Orders are processed on a weekly basis.  Books are sent via U.S.P.S. or FedEx Ground unless a rush order is requested (see below).  Allow a minimum of two weeks for standard delivery.

Rush orders are accepted by telephone only and must be prepaid by VISA, MasterCard or American Express. The rush charge is an additional $20 plus applicable overnight shipping charges or ground shipping fees. Call 202.588.6296 before 2 p.m. ET for same-day rush service and a shipping cost quote.

Titles not yet published or temporarily out of stock will be shipped as soon as they become available.

Discounts

National Trust Forum and National Main Street members receive a 25% discount on publications. Individual/Family members receive a 10% discount. The regular and discounted prices are displayed below the description of each title. The discount is automatically calculated when you place your order. It does not apply to sales tax and shipping/handling charges and some special offers.

You must provide a valid membership number when you place your order to receive the appropriate discount. The shopping cart will apply the appropriate discount for the member type you indicate. If the shopping cart is unable to verify your membership, the order will be processed at the non-discounted price.

Payment:

Online orders must be paid with a credit card. We accept VISA, MasterCard and American Express. Shipping/handling charges, applicable sales taxes, and discounts will be automatically added to your order (see below). Orders will appear on your credit card statement with the merchant name: NTHP-Preservation Books.

You may also choose to print the order form created by your shopping cart and mail your order in with payment in U.S. dollars by either check or credit card. Checks should be made payable to National Trust for Historic Preservation. Please do not send cash.

Government agencies and institutions may submit purchase orders. Please provide a purchase order number.  A signed letter on official institutional stationery also serves as a purchase order.

Returns

Please call Preservation Books at 202.588.6296 to obtain authorization before returning any part of your order. No credits or refunds will be granted for unauthorized returns. Authorized returns must be accompanied by a copy of our invoice. Books returned without prior authorization or without our invoice will be mailed back at the customer's expense.

Bookstores please note: Authorization for return will not be given for overstocks.

Claims for mis-shipments or damaged books must be made within 30 days of receipt of shipment by calling Preservation Books at 202.588.6296. Damaged books will be replaced and discrepancies will be corrected.

Sales Tax

Applicable sales tax will be added automatically to online orders that will be shipped to CA, CT, DC, IL, IA, LA, MD, MA, NY, PA, SC, TX and VA.
